Keep you up-to-date with all the fun, new and exciting happenings that go on at The Villa throughout the year.
MT FREETH WALK: Join our crew on the yearly walk up to Mount Freeth – The highest hill in Picton with great views into the Sounds. As this is private land access is only available for that one day.
GUY FAWKES: Guy Fawkes is loud and proud ….lots of fire works, maybe a BBQ before hand and lots of explanations to totally bewildered guests who have no idea what’s going on.
CHRISTMAS PARADE IN PICTON: Christmas is on the way and the Christmas parade is not far off – Assembling at the Picton Police Station by 2.00pm – parade moves off at 2.30pm. A concert will start on the Picton Foreshore and the prizes for the Best Community Floats and the Best Business Floats will be awarded at 2.45pm approx. There will be free facepainting & fun balloons. There will be a variety of food and drinks to purchase.
TREE TRIMMING PARTY: Tree trimming party with free wine, maybe mulled wine and Christmas cake, guests and staff decorating the big trees around and in The Villa a week or so before Christmas, very sentimental for some, lots of shmultzy Chrissy muzak.
CHRISTMAS: While there is no compulsory “live in” period for Christmas, and the Villa will be closed on Christmas Day so that staff can enjoy the day too, we would prefer that guests who wish to stay with us over the holiday period stay Christmas Eve (24 Dec) through to Boxing Day (26 Dec). If however we have guests who arrive on Christmas Day we will not turn you away! We will still, however have the festive Christmas spirit around The Villa over the Christmas period with decorations, Chrissy cake etc although Christmas Day itself will be “DIY” for guests. It will still be great – So come and spend great days with us over Christmas!!
NEW YEARS EVE PARTY: Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2013 at Ignite Marlborough on London Quay, Picton. Picton’s annual New Year’s Eve party has evolved into an even bigger event with co-sponsors Port Marlborough and the Interisland now joined by the Marlborough District Council. The new event, Ignite Marlborough, includes a programme of live music from 7.30pm – 12.30pm, with the spectacular fireworks display at midnight. It promises to be a great night of fun.
